MOCHO GRACIOUS

One day in November of 1991, I was alone on the way back to Mainland China for my 40th. high school reunion. Sitting to my left was a very pretty lady. Her gold rimmed eye glasses made her looked even prettier. But she looked too tall for being a Chinese.

After the plane left San Francisco airport, she began reading a novel written in Spanish. I struck a conversation with her. That was when I found out she was a Mexican working for Aero Mexico as a flight attendant and bumping a free ride to Hong Kong on vacation.

After one meal, I had to go to the bath room to clean up. When I returned, I picked up the service tray with one hand and the Food tray with the other. But, the pillow was in the way. So, she removed it so I could sit down. I thanked her in my not so polished Spanish,

Mocho Gracious!

To which she answered, "Oh, where are my glasses? I must have put it back in my purse!"
